For Those in Need

Assistance from the Chronicle Season of Sharing Fund is available to senior citizens (60+), disabled individuals and low-to-moderate income families with dependent children who have a one-time critical need and who reside in the counties of Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano or Sonoma. Funds also are distributed to food banks in these counties.

Critical needs assistance is provided in the form of grants that are paid directly to the supplier of services, such as a landlord or medical equipment provider. Assistance also is provided through Bay Area food banks. Individuals do not receive direct grants.

In order to receive services, you will need to contact the county coordinator in your county. The county coordinator will assist you with the Chronicle Season of Sharing Fund application process and determine if you are eligible for services. Please note that all services are provided at the county level.
