100% of your donation helps
Donations are used to provide direct assistance to Bay Area residents with one-time critical needs that can not be met by other resources.

All funds contributed each year are distributed throughout the year
Funds are distributed to nine Bay Area counties to help:

  2. Individuals over age 60
  3. Disabled Individuals

who live in one of the following counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano or Sonoma.

Fund Management
Non-profit fiscal agents manage the funds in each county.

More than 120 Community Service Agencies help distribute Season of Sharing Funds to Bay Area residents. The agencies determine the most effective resolution to the problem.

Among the agencies are:
North Peninsula Neighborhood Center, Salvation Army, Catholic Charities, Independent Living Resource Center, Family Service Agency, North of Market Senior Services, Jewish Family Services, North Peninsula Neighborhood Community Center, Marin Canal Community Alliance, Volunteer Services of Contra Costa County, members of Second Harvest Food Banks.

Personal Budget Review
Because Season of Sharing grants are short-term and one-time only, community service agencies work with the applicant toward a goal of stabilizing them now and in the future. Case intake includes a personal budget review. Together with the applicant, case managers complete a Request for Assistance.

Assistance Granted
Once a grant is approved, checks are sent directly to the supplier of services for a variety of needs, including rental assistance, wheelchair repair, furniture, school bus passes, work uniforms.

If you need further assistance, please call HELPLINK at 1-800-273-6222.
